Riyadh-Mubasher: The Tadawul All-Share Index (TASI) trimmed most of its gains in the last hour of Wednesday's session, adding 0.56% or 49.47 points to reach the 8,851 level.
More than 381 million shares were traded through over 146,000 transactions at a turnover exceeding SAR 8.6 billion.
Nine sectors rose, topped by the hotels and retail sectors, which soared 2.14% and 1.62%, respectively. Meanwhile, six sectors declined, led by the building construction sector which lost 0.79% and the multi-investment sector which edged down 0.73%.
Wrapping up stocks, decliners eclipsed advancers 79 to 68. Insurance firm ACIG was the best performer, soaring 8.70% to SAR 31. Buruj Insurance was the worst performer, falling 3.61% to SAR 29.30.
Dar Al Arkan, which dipped 0.81%, was the most active in terms of traded volume and value, after nearly 86 million shares were exchanged at a turnover of SAR 741 million.
